No more exclusive interviews with Hollywood A-Listers and political head honchos.
No more riveting stories about everyday people across the country.
For 25 years, media mogul Oprah Winfrey has given us all of that, and more, but like all good things, this too will come to an end. Winfrey’s final show will air today, which coincidently is the last day of the rating period for sweeps, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The Oprah Winfrey show has been the number one rated talk show for 24 consecutive years, and has earned a total of 47 Emmy awards. About 40 million viewers a week in America watch her show, which is nothing compared to the 145 countries across the world that also broadcast her show. Winfrey has interviewed five presidents and five first ladies along with a few royals, including one reigning queen, one former queen, six princesses, seven princes, one earl, one lord, one count and one dutches.
No one is sure of how the last show will go down, but we can all rest assured it will be phenomenal. Winfrey has said at the conclusion of her show, she’ll focus all of her attention to her own network (no pun intended) OWN.
Okay chicas, get your Kleenex ready, because May 25, will DEFINITELY be a tear jerker.
So will you be tuning in or could you care less?
