Weight Loss Tip of the Week: Don’t Eat When You’re Sad/Stressed

It may be tempting to smash an entire carton of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream when your boyfriend breaks up with you or you get a bad review, but turning to fattening foods in a time of emotional distress is a bad habit we all need to break. Not only will you leave your food-binging therapy session feeling worse than you did before you started but your body won’t be happy with you either. Instead, try seeking out an activity that relaxes you whether it be knitting, reading or confiding in a friend. Although it may not be your first choice, consider doing a little cardio. It’s a great way to relieve stress and it will release a team of endorphins that are sure to turn your mood around.
