Health Tip of the Week: Eat Your Veggies for Breakfast

Get a jump start on your day by eating your veggies at breakfast. Try putting fresh spinach in a smoothie (I promise you can’t taste it), eating a hash made with potatoes, bell peppers, and spinach, adding diced bell pepper and tomatoes to scrambled eggs, or sipping on a hearty vegetable soup for your first meal of the day. I’ve recently started eating kale salad or collard greens with my eggs and turkey sausage instead of whole wheat toast, and I feel so much cleaner and lighter.

Greens have major nutritional and health benefits and have also been shown to support most bodily functions, boost energy levels, and eliminate toxins such as heavy metals, which can weaken our tissues and lead to disease over time. Aesthetically, green foods also help to improve the appearance and health of our skin, hair and nails. Some research even suggests that green foods can even delay the natural effects of aging.
